| Rosacea is a
skin condition that leaves people red faced from dilated blood vessels
and chronic flushing. Rosacea can also cause pimples and/or blisters
on the nose and cheeks.
Conventional treatments for this condition usually
involve courses of antibiotics and/or the application of anti-biotic
or steroid creams.

| How can
Intense Pulsed Light help? |
Intense Pulsed Light can successfully
treat dilated blood vessels and redness without injuring the surrounding
healthy skin. IPL can greatly reduce episodes of flushing with can
provide an effective long term solution to the problem.
Intense Pulsed Light can improve Rosacea considerably. However, Rosacea
is an ongoing problem, and there is as yet no cure. It is important
that clients have realistic expectations; IPL treatment will improve
things significantly but the Rosacea is unlikely to disappear completely. |

|
| What does
the treatment involve? |
A pulse of Intense Pulsed
Light may feel like a pinch similar to a snapped rubber band. The
skin is cooled with chilled gel and other techniques to prevent
discomfort. The entire procedure takes approx. 20 minutes and no
needles are used at any time.
A number of treatments are usually required to get the best results.
|
| What preparations should I
make prior to treatment? |
| The treatment
should not be performed on tanned skin, so prior to and following
treatment you must avoid exposure to the sun. We advise you use
sun protection for a month following treatment. You should also
avoid vigorous exercise for 1 to 2 days following treatment.
